Projects for 2010

As the Billy Joel song says “you may be right, I may be crazy.” For 2010, I’ve got two 365 projects going. The first one is Garden 365 a year long that focuses on my garden and how it changes through time. And when I’m travelling to see family, I’ll focus on other people’s gardens. You can see the resulting photo essay on dontbeapicklebump.com.

Project 365 – Sensible Sustainability stems out of my interest in gardening and living sustainably (which has been a huge part of my life this past year) and doing it so that fit your budget. Before I started this project, I didn’t think that Houston was that green. But I’m learning that there thriving community of people who are interested in sharing the very best that Houston has to offer. You can see the pieces for this project at sustainableinhouston.com.

Enjoy!

The Story of the Quilt

The Story of the Quilt” is the first personal expository piece I’ve written in a long time. Personal narrative or personal expository is a hard genre for me, but I do it so I can expand my writing horizons a bit and find a voice that can tell stories the way my Dad did. He had such a good storytelling voice.

November Writing Project

nablopomo200x150I’m a much better Technical/Expository writer than I am of poetry/fiction. That’s part of the reason why I blog. I can write about my day-to-day experiences and share the thoughts rattling around my head. The problem is that I’m not very consistent. So I’ve decided to participate in National Blog Posting Month (November) which also happens to correspond to NaNoWriMo.

So to spark the writing juices, I’m going to hold my own carnival of posts. The 1 post a day for all the blogs listed below (grand total number of posts 120):
