Things are developing. With the film that I’m taking from the Rolleiflex, I thought I’d go ahead and gather the materials that I need for developing black and white film at home. And honestly, after the last batch I got back from the local lab, I’m glad I made the decision. It’s been 22 years (or so) since I last developed film, but I think I’m up for the task.

I’ve got a couple of dummy rolls of film I can practice with as far as loading the film onto the spool. The issue I’m having right now, is getting the spool I have to expand to 120.

I can only hope that Mr. D would be proud of all that he taught me when I was in high school and learning how to develop my own film.

Today I bring you the Origami Heart with Quarter created by R. I came home today and found this sitting on my desk. When R does things like this, it always makes me smile and I always feel special.

The fun thing about this picture is I got to try the Polaroid Close-up Stand that came with the Spectra Camera and the image film I picked up from The Impossible Project. Overall I’m happy with the results. The top picture shows what sometimes happens when you shoot with expired film. Colors get a little funky and you end up with lines of demarcation in unexpected place. Yet I really like the colors in this picture. The second picture was shot with the Impossible Project’s PZ600 UV+ Silver shade film. I like the lack of color in it because causes you to focus on the details of the origami.

My Baby Brother, Chuck, who is 6’4″ and an awesome husband and dad. He’s a Master Sargent in the Air Force and has been to the Middle East Several Times. But he’s still my baby brother.

While the picture on Day 2 didn’t turn out so well, this one that I took this afternoon shows what a beautiful young woman Abby has become. It’s hard to believe that it wasn’t that long ago that I was babysitting a teeny tiny baby girl.

You can tell a lot about a man by how he treats his mama and little old ladies. One of the reasons I love R is that he treats Grandma Pauline with the utmost respect and care. She fell in love with him when he made it so her rugs didn’t slip as she walked on them. Today he cleaned the ice off her driveway, sidewalks, and stoops.

One of pictures that I took at my sister’s the night we arrived in Des Moines. It didn’t turn out – Way too dark. And of course I didn’t think about taking the picture with the other camera until after we left my sister’s.
