The basket full of scissors and iron on transfer patterns. I became obsessed with iron transfers after my mother’s death. In the trunk that I brought home from her house I found a mix of completed embroidery, half-finished embroidery and panels never started. Combine that with an obsession about embroidery thread (collected while I did a lot of cross-stitch) and my crafty self finds herself wanting to open up her boxes of thread, buy some cotton towels and stitch my way to and from work on the bus.

My friend Ramona at Texas Art Asylum turned me on to the multiple variations of edging scissors available for trimming paper and images. Texas Art Supply had a range of these lovely little scissors that I picked up. The basket is just the perfect place to store them in.

Over on the left, you can see the altered book that I’ve been working on after taking a class at Texas Art Asylum. I still have lots of work to do before it’s done, but I’ve got some great ideas from my art journal books and artist trading card books.
