Tonight I went for a walk – just me, my iTouch (music is a must have), and my little point and shoot camera. I took a few pictures on the way to the park. But on the way back I started thinking about using what I had at my disposal to get the best pictures possible. So I found little places to sit my camera. I played with the scenes and settings. I used the 10 second timer to make sure that the pictures were as stable as possible. I got some really good results.
For some reason this makes me want to start singing “Who are the people in your neighborhood? In your Neighborhod? In your neigh-bor-hood?”
Actually I know several of the people in my neighborhood just from seeing them around the complex.
In a way, I really miss the old neighborhood from when I was growing up. Maybe it’s my age, but I don’t see people out doing things in the evening like we used to when I was a kid. I miss seeing kids playing in the street and running around the way that only kids can do. I also miss seeing a couple of boys pedalling down the street furiously trying to get home before dinner. I miss being in a close knit neighborhood where people talk with each other and get to know one another.
